St. Paul formed a Garden Committee in spring of 2008, with the mission of maintaining, upgrading and beautifying the area outside the church.

The committee hopes to balance several goals:

1) being a good neighbor by providing well-kept, inviting spaces;

2) co-existing with the needs and realities of our immediate community and St. Paul's outreach programs;

3) being environmentally conscience with respect to plants and water use;

4) collaborating with other St. Paul committees (e.g., the Green Team and Building Committee) to coordinate activities and ensure efficiency; and

5) welcoming the talents and energy of any and all those who attend St. Paul, as well as other interested individuals.

Listed below are many of the significant accomplishments which occurred during the 2009 leadership year for the Saint Paul Lutheran Church Building and Property Ministry. (This list does not include ongoing and recurrent building and property maintenance / lawn mowing, alley power-washing, etc. — which were also performed by the building and property ministry)

Fall 2009

We have made great progress over the last six months painting, power-washing, repairing and replacing ... and simply keeping the "engine" of our many Saint Paul outreach ministries in good working order. A few of the highlights of our ongoing work are as follows.
