At St. Paul, we try to avoid the word "volunteer." We do serious work here, and the people who do it are really ministers. Martin Luther tells us that all who are a part of the body of Christ, the Church, are, ourselves, Christ for the sake of the neighbor. We do good works because they have been given us to do by God, and we do this good work not to proselytize or convert; we DO simply for the good of the neighbor. That simple.
It doesn't matter if you're a part of any faith community or tradition; all who desire to work for the common good of any are welcome to participate in these service opportunities.
Whether you service through the Local Assistance Ministry, Grant Avenue Street Reach, Metro CareRing, or any other of the service opportunities through St. Paul, you will receive much more than you can ever give.
If you're interested, contact Saint Paul Lutheran Church, let us know how you would like to get involved and someone will get in touch with you!! Pressed for time? Gifts are always welcome for the work of these ministries. Use the Contact page to get in touch with us for more information on giving opportunities. |
