| St.
Paul Choir
The St. Paul Choir sings at the 10:30 am Sunday service from September
through Mayleading congregational singing, presenting offertory
anthems and communion motets. They also participate in many other events
during the year, including Christmas and Holy Week services.
The St. Paul Choir is open to anyone who likes to sing, regardless
of previous experience or ability. An entrance audition is required
only for assessment of skill and placement within the choir. Rehearsals
are on Thursday nights from 7 to 9 PM. Sunday morning warm-up is at
10. There are occasionally extra rehearsals for special events, usually
on Saturday mornings.
St.
Paul Festival Choir
The St. Paul Festival Choir sings three evening concerts a year and
includes voices from the St. Paul Choir and other choirs in the area.
The group was established to allow singers from many choirs to come
together and sing, but with limited commitment and rehearsal obligation.
Participation in this group is open to anyone. Singers need only to
come to two rehearsals in preparation for a performance. No long-term
commitment is required. Two special musical events have become traditions
at St. Paul:
- The O Antiphons Advent Procession in December
- Gods Trombones in Lent
St.
Paul Handbells
The Handbell Choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm.
Childrens
Music
While there currently is no official childrens choir, music for
young people is very important at St. Paul. Every Sunday morning from
9:15 9:30, all children meet with our Cantor for music.
- learn about music
- become familiar with our hymns and the sung parts of the liturgy
- receive training on how to sing well
A few times during the church year, the children, ranging in ages from
3 14, sing for services on special occasions.
