PrideFest
|

Our booth this year was filled with many wonderful souls who caught The Spirit on Pentecost and bravely cast their nets. This year we invited all Reconciling in Christ churches to join with us. We marched, we told our stories, and maybe—just maybe—we offered a new perspective to many shut out of the church for so long.

A special shout out to the brave, faithful members at Holy Trinity Lutheran in Littleton and Epiphany Lutheran in Wash Park. These folks came to Pride, some for the first time, and boldly stepped into the crazy circus without fear. Putting the edges of their comfort zone in the rear view mirror, these congregations demonstrated a true desire to be inclusive. They are undeniably the church's role models.
Beyond our mission(s) to recruit, mentor and cast our own nets, the brothers and sisters of Saint Paul had a weekend-long party. Our fabulous (but not too fabulous) portable church (including disco ball) provided an awesome venue to conduct this event. We connected with many individuals who want to come back to church. We saw old friends. Saw some stuff we may not like. We lived life.

The Reconciling in Christ Ministry of Saint Paul Lutheran and Catholic community of faith wishes to thank our financial supporters who made all of this possible. We’re working on plans for next year's PrideFest (2012), and one can only imagine what we’ll come up with to top this event! |
